In June 1930, The Mentor magazine published an article written by Harry titled Latin Quarter. The piece features several Paris-inspired works that Harry did during travels. While the art is terrific, I find this article interesting because Harry wrote it. In fact, it is one of the few items written by Harry that survives. The article provides a glimpse into the mind of the artist. It is a mind that is both inquisitive and sophisticated. I wish I had discovered this article before a trip to Paris – it would be grand to retrace Harry’s steps and stops. Oh well, there’s always the next trip – better late than never!
