The Chicago (1942)

In 1942, Timmins illustrated the book The Chicago, by Harry Hansen.  One in a series of Rivers Of America books, The Chicago traces the history of the river and its use from early trading days to (at the time) the present.  Having lived in Chicago for roughly two decades, I imagine that Harry enjoyed illustrating this book, and probably learned a few things about the river that he didn’t know.  Below are several representative illustrations from the book.  Only the dust jacket was reproduced in color.
