Studebaker Ads (1929)

In 1929, Timmins did ten ad illustrations for Studebaker automobiles.  The ads show well-heeled Studebaker owners attending various events of importance in the lives of the American aristocracy.  The format allowed Timmins to demonstrate his artistic abilities in a variety of genre subjects.  Although Timmins did excellent automobile illustrations, it is not clear whether he illustrated any or all of the automobiles in these ads.  One car presented below, for example, has the initials MS immediately below it.  The ads ran in many if not most of the major magazines of the day.  Five ads from this series are presented below.

March 1929 - President Straight Eight Brougham for five
May 1929 - Commander Cabriolet Convertible for four
July 1929 - President Eight State Roadster, page 2 of two page ad
September 1929 - Commander Eight Brougham for five
September 1929 - President Straight Eight Victoria
