Harry only illustrated nine stories for Woman’s Home Companion (WHC), during the period 1930-1934. Based on this plus the similar history with The American, it appears that Crowell-Collier used Timmins in all three of its magazines initially, before settling into using him exclusively for work in Collier’s. With regard to Harry’s WHC work, the lack of quantity is balanced by excellent quality. Below are four representative examples of Harry’s work for WHC. I find it interesting to compare Harry’s work for different women’s magazines – for example, WHC vs. LHJ. If the works lacked attribution, one might be surprised to learn that the same illustrator did them. I have removed story text from the images below for clearer presentation.
